Managing Director (m/f/d) Leading manufacturer in the metalworking industry

Our client is Europe’s leading supplier of standard perforated sheets, expanded metal, crimped and welded meshes for metal workers in Central Europe. As a member of an international group it produce the main part of its products in-house, in particular perforated and expanded metal. The sales organization is based on two sales channels: telemarketing (sales employees) and online shop. The company offers both standard and customized products to a broad customer base with more than 25,000 customers. With approx. 150 employees in 10 locations the company is headquartered in a metropolitan region in southwestern Germany.

 

Your Job

As Managing Director (m/f/d), the job holder is responsible for the activities of the company on a national and international level, particularly in the areas of result and business development. In the process, the MD serves at the level of the management team as motivator, direction setter, sparring partner and coach. In particular, the responsibility includes:

  • Guiding the overall company together with the management team and developing a sustainable and future-oriented corporate strategy
  • Developing and implementing an efficient and sustainable product strategy
  • Assuming full budgetary and profit responsibility
  • Growing sales to especially European metal workers via the digital platform and through an increasing product range
  • Expanding previous market potential in established and new markets through an increasing product range comprising standard sheets, individual supply of simple tailormade perforation and trading products
  • Continuing the automation and process optimization to ensure high cost efficiency and competitiveness
  • Developing and implementing of a new online shop
  • Focusing on price optimization and an efficient supply chain
  • Further developing internal structures and processes with the management team
  • Adopting and implementing group guidelines and act in alignment with group principles and strategy
  • Communication to the staff and visibility in the company as a role model
  • Regular communication and reporting to the parent company

 

Your Profile

  • Completed degree in business administration
  • Many years of experience in the areas of production and sales in a medium-sized company
  • Good knowledge of the structures and processes in an European group
  • High affinity for market and product development
  • Strategic competence proven in practice
  • Demonstrable management experience combined with the ability to actively manage change processes successfully and to motivate employees
  • High affinity and sense for markets and technological trends
  • Digital expertise with a focus on the essential
  • Business fluent in German and English
